FOOD N' FLAVA

Every form of true education trains the student in self-reliance.
- John Henrik Clarke

The Food N’Flava Program introduces young people ages 14-16 to food systems literacy from a lens of self-reliance and Black food sovereignty. Youth engage in nutrition education classes that focus on empowering them to identify and make healthy food choices even when faced with limited options, such as school meals. Participants gain entrepreneurial skills through the development, marketing, and sale of a value-added product.
