DBCFSN works to build self-reliance, food security and justice in Detroit’s Black community by influencing public policy, engaging in urban agriculture, promoting healthy eating, encouraging cooperative buying and directing youth towards careers in food-related fields.

DBCFSN Mission Statement

There are three classes of members: Individual, Family, and Organizational. Membership is granted to any individual, family, or organization who supports the mission and purpose of the Detroit Black Community Food Security Network. All members have voting rights.
